2012 Graduate Research Weekend Application Procedures

In order to be considered for participation in the GRW’12, you need to follow the 3 steps below:

1: Complete the UofT School of Graduate Studies (SGS) Online Application, and pay the $110 application fee. The $110 application fee will be reimbursed to you if you attend GRW'12. Remember to obtain and document your SGS applicant number, as it will be required in order to complete the Departmental Online Application (step 2 below).

2: Complete the
Departmental Online Application. For more detailed information and help in using the system, please refer to Help for Beginners and Guide to Potential Applicants.

3: Once you have submitted your Departmental Online Application log back into the Departmental Online Application system, select “Add comments after submission” and enter “GRW’12” in the comment section.

Please note:

  • Your referees do not need to submit their online references by the January 4th deadline.  In case you do not yet have 2 referee names confirmed, you may temporarily use the Graduate Co-ordinator's email "vladimiros.papangelakisATutoronto.ca" as well as "admissgrad.chemengATutoronto.ca" as the second referee email (with dummy first name, second name, as well as telephone number). You will later be asked to provide real names.
  • You will need approximately 1 hour to complete both applications, so plan ahead and prepare your documents.
  • You do not need to send an official transcript in order to be considered for participation in GRW’12; we will use your scanned transcript (submitted through the School of Graduate Studies Online Application) and the grades you enter in the Departmental Online Application to decide whether you will be invited.
  • Up to 25 students from Canada will be invited. You will know one week after the submission deadline.
