Department of Chemical Engineering & Applied Chemistry Awards


Complete applications for the currently available 2011-2012 awards (see below) are due in the Chemical Engineering & Applied Chemistry Graduate Office (WB 212) by 4pm on Friday, February 18th, 2012.

Complete applications include:
-a one-page letter outlining why you should receive the award
-a copy of your CV
-a ROSI printout of your transcript with your name on it
-an OSOTF form (for OSOTF awards only); OSOTF awards are open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents of Canada only.

Please note that all of the awards listed below are open to MASc and PhD students only.

Please provide only one copy of your CV, ROSI transcript, and OSOTF form, even if you are applying for more than one award.  A separate (and unique) letter is required for each award you apply for.

Eco-Tec Founder's Fellowship (OSOTF)
2011/2012:  2 award, $2,000 each
Eco–Tec Limited has donated funds to provide one award for a graduate student pursuing environmental graduate studies in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry.

Edward Jarvis Tyrrell Fellowship
2011/2012:  2 awards, $2,000 each
Funds from the estate of Violet Louise Tyrrell, in memory of her husband, provide a fellowship, awarded annually on the basis of academic merit, to a full‐time research graduate student in Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry.

Helen L Cross (nee Colquhuon) Memorial Graduate Scholarship (OSOTF)
2011/2012:  2 awards, $2,000 each
Awarded on the recommendation of the Department of Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry to a graduate student in the program. Preference is given to a female student and, if possible, a female student from Northern Ontario.

Irving O. Shoichet Graduate Scholarship
2011/2012:  2 awards, $2,000 each
To be awarded to graduate students registered in the Deartment of Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry, on the basis of academic merit and will be awarded to students whose research and studies are focused on the areas of regenerative medicine and tissue engineering.
 
W. H. Rapson Memorial Award (OSOTF)
2011/2012:  2 awards, $1,500 each
Various donors have contributed to a fund, the annual income of which is given to a graduate student in the Pulp and Pulp Research Centre, on the basis of academic merit.

William J. Dowkes Graduate Bursary (OSOTF)
2011/2012:  1 award, $2,000
Awarded on the basis of financial need to a student in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry.
