CANADIAN ENGINEERING MEMORIAL FOUNDATION AWARDS

Award Summary:
3 awards available to Canadian women studying in a graduate engineering program.  These scholarships are meant to encourage women to pursue and further their career in engineering, act as ambassadors for women and girls.

Application Deadline:
Vice-Dean Graduate Studies Office by: DECEMBER 9, 2009.

Value of the Award:
$10,000 to $15,000 depending on the award.

Eligibility:
- female student enrolled full-time in a Canadian university engineering program
- Canadian citizen, or be a Landed Immigrant with a Permanent Residence card
- must have an undergraduate engineering degree (any
field) from an accredited Canadian program.



AUTISM SCHOLARS AWARD

Award Summary:
"A Scholar Awards Program in Autism has been established to ensure that Ontario attracts and retains pre-eminent scholars. The community of autism scholars...will excel...in the creation of new knowledge concerning child autism, and its translation into improved health for children, more effective services and products for children with autism, and increase the province’s capacity in diagnosis and assessment of autism and a strengthened treatment system by: promoting, assisting and undertaking research that pertains to one or more of the following aspects of children’s health: pediatric behavioural sciences and autism within the academic community, increase advanced research relating to autism, especially its diagnosis and treatment, and other research as required...."

Application Deadline:
Wednesday, January 13, 2010 to the Graduate Awards Office at SGS.

Value of the Award:
Master’s Awards - $18,000 (2 awards available for 2010-2011)
Doctoral Awards - $20,000 (2 awards available for 2010-2011)

Eligibility:
Master’s Awards - registered full-time in a Master’s or Doctoral graduate program at an Ontario university at the time of taking up the award (i.e., the fall term of 2010-11), and must remain registered full-time in that master’s program throughout the term of the award. Master’s students remain eligible to the end of their sixth term of full-time study.

Doctoral Awards - registered full-time in a Doctoral graduate program at an Ontario university at the time of taking up the award (i.e., the fall term of 2010-11), and must remain registered full-time throughout the term of the award. Doctoral students remain eligible to the end of their fifteenth term of full-time study.
