Teaching Assistantships

A Teaching Assistantship (TA) position of approximately 40 hours is set aside for the first year of M.A.Sc. and Ph.D. study.

Income from TA will be complementary to minimum support provided to M.A.Sc. and Ph.D. students. The pay rate as of September 2009 for SGSI and SGSII is $39.92/hour, which is set through a collective agreement between the university and CUPE Local 3902, the union representing Teaching Assistants at UofT. Internal Opportunities

The Teaching Assistantship application form is due to Ms. Julie Mendonca by July 29th for Fall 2011 courses, and November 25th for Winter 2012 courses. Please read the Departmental Guidelines for Teaching Assistants before applying for a Teaching Assistant position. Please review the list of courses  requiring TA’s to identify courses for which you would like to apply.

Students are required to take the Safety Workshop (CHE 2222H) and pass the associated examination to be eligible for Teaching Assistantships.
