Life in Chemical Engineering
The atmosphere in the Department is friendly and supportive. You can be part of a research team and a larger research cluster that help you achieve your goals, join CEGSA or participate in LOT-G (Leaders of Tomorrow - Graduate). Throughout your studies, fellow students, faculty, and staff are there to ease the transition into the department and help you navigate through the system.Chemical Engineering Graduate Students' Association(CEGSA)
Our graduate student association, CEGSA, is very active. The Association serves as a liaison between the graduate student body and the Department, Faculty Council, and the Teaching Assistants Union (Local 3902 of CUPE), as well as holding social events and participating in intramural sports.
All graduate students in this Department are members.
Leaders of Tomorrow - Graduate (LOT-G)
Engineers have a distinct and important role to play in society. Fulfilling this role doesn’t just require technical expertise. It takes leadership. LOT-G is a program that provides the opportunity for Engineering students to your self-awareness, your understanding and appreciation of others, and acquire the leadership skills needed for the 21st century.
Graduate Students' Union
The Graduate Students' Union (GSU) is an organization to which all registered graduate students, full-time and part-time, belong.
The GSU represents the graduate student body at all levels of university government. In addition, it provides services such as a Pub, Cafe, and Gym where graduate students may gather for relaxation and recreation.
Other services include a supplementary health care plan and a limited dental care plan.
